How Paw Plans Makes Money
Paw Plans is free for visitors to use and is funded primarily through affiliate partnerships with third-party insurance and comparison services.
The short version
Advertisement disclosure: some links and quote buttons on Paw Plans are affiliate links. If you follow one and complete a qualifying action, such as requesting a quote or buying a policy, Paw Plans may receive a commission from the third party.
How affiliate commission works
An affiliate link contains information that allows a partner to recognise that a visitor arrived from Paw Plans. Depending on the agreement, we may be paid for a valid click, completed quotation, policy purchase or another defined action.
The commission is paid by the partner. Paw Plans does not charge visitors a separate fee. We do not claim that an affiliate price will always be identical to every price available through every other route; offers, eligibility and pricing can vary. Always review the quotation and policy documents presented by the provider.
What happens when you click a partner link
You leave the Paw Plans website and enter a website, form or quotation journey controlled by a third party. That organisation is responsible for the information it collects, the providers it compares, the quotation it displays and any policy you choose to buy.
Paw Plans normally does not receive the personal information entered into a third-party quote form. The partner may send us aggregated reporting or confirmation that an anonymous qualifying action occurred so that commission can be calculated. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for more information.
Does commission affect what appears on the site?
Commercial relationships can influence which comparison services, insurers or links are available through an affiliate website. We therefore do not present Paw Plans as a guaranteed whole-of-market service, and we do not claim that every insurer or policy is included.
Our editorial pages are designed around user questions and policy features rather than commission levels. A commercial relationship does not make a policy suitable for a particular person, and inclusion on the site should not be treated as a recommendation or endorsement.
Our editorial safeguards
- Clear disclosure: we explain the affiliate model on this page and in the site footer.
- No personal recommendation: Paw Plans provides general information, not regulated advice tailored to an individual.
- Policy details over marketing claims: readers are encouraged to check limits, excesses, definitions and exclusions in the provider’s current documents.
- No paid positive reviews: partners cannot purchase a favourable conclusion or require us to hide a material limitation.
- Corrections process: factual concerns can be sent to info@pawplans.co.uk for review.
Advertising and sponsored content
If Paw Plans publishes content that a third party has paid to place or control, it will be identified clearly as advertising or sponsored content. Ordinary affiliate links may also be marked with terms such as “Advertisement”, “affiliate link” or “sponsored”.
UK advertising guidance requires affiliate marketing to be recognisable as advertising where the commercial nature is not otherwise obvious. We aim to make that relationship clear before a visitor acts on the link.
What Paw Plans does not receive payment for
We do not charge users to read the website. We do not collect insurance premiums, administer policies or take a share of claim payments. We do not sell personal quotation data because quotation details are entered on the partner’s website rather than on Paw Plans.
Our regulatory position
Paw Plans is an information and affiliate website. It does not provide personal insurance advice or enter into insurance contracts with visitors. A third party offering or arranging insurance should provide its own regulatory details. You can check an authorised firm using the Financial Services Register.
Questions about our commercial relationships
Email info@pawplans.co.uk if you want to ask how a link is funded, report a disclosure problem or raise a potential conflict of interest.
